Policy Dialogue Summaries

An AHOP Policy Dialogue is a highly focused and carefully facilitated intervention with a small group of senior decision makers to provide evidence in support of a specific and tangible policy decision (or the generation of policy options) and a safe place to discuss it.

Each dialogue is highly customized with evidence tailored to meet policy needs and with consistent and deliberate use of cross-country evidence and experience to illuminate national discussions. Our policy dialogues offer evidence rather than guidance.

Our policy dialogues bring the right people to the table at the right time and provide them with high quality, detailed evidence on a single policy question. Participants at our policy dialogues have included:

  • Directors and policy advisers from government ministries
  • Senior elected representatives and senators
  • Technical experts from WHO Global, Regional and Country Offices
  • Leaders of medical associations and other prominent professional bodies
  • Representatives from the private health sector and financial institutions
  • International development agencies

After each dialogue, we produce a short document summarising the opportunities and challenges, proposed strategies and policy implications identified during discussions.
